Camping Menina

Magnificent surroundings in northern Slovenia Menina campsite is located on the edge of the Alps in northern Slovenia and at the heart of the lovely wide Savinja Valley, surrounded by forests and mountains rising up to 2500m. It's perfect for hiking, cycling and for other lovers of peace, space and the countryside who want to be active in the 'real' Slovenia.   Swimming lake and other outdoor attractions Menina campsite has a lovely swimming lake which is perfect for children. The river that runs past the camping grounds invites you to go kayaking and rafting. There is a playground with entertainment for children six times a week. Teenagers can have a great time by the camp fire or by taking part in a special teens hike tour including an overnight stay. And there is a climbing park where you can take an exciting course high above the ground. Get your breath back in the sauna or during a massage.   Eat well in the restaurant The campsite has a good restaurant with a lively terrace. There is a baker 300 metres away and a mini-market, post office and cash machine within 2 km.   From caves to the highest waterfall Its central location makes it a perfect location for day trips to all the tourist top attractions in the country: the Postojna caves, Jeruzalem wine area, Ljubljana, Bled and the Logar Valley with Slovenia's highest waterfall on the top of the Golte mountain. A day trip to Maribor (90km) is also worthwhile. Visit the city centre and grab a terrace there. Interested in wine? Maribor is home to the world's oldest vine. The vine is more than 400 years old and is even in the Guinnes Book of Records. And beneath the city centre lies one of Europe’s largest wine cellars, Vinag, stretching for 2 kilometres.
